Hi, I’m Brittany McCrea, Clinical Associate and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I’m a graduate from the Master of Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. I have Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Psychology and a minor in Biology from the University of Guelph, as well as a post-graduate certificate in Addiction Counselling from Georgian College.
For over a decade, I have supported adults in a range of front-line positions in the mental health and addiction fields, including a crisis work, addictions counselling, and mental health case management at local hospital and community-based mental health services. I provide support for people age 15 and older.
I have supported clients anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and obsessive-compulsiv disorder. In addition, I have a strong interest in helping people with perfectionism, anger management, hoarding behaviors, relationship conflict, grief, substance abuse, and addiction.
Life can be challenging. Change can be difficult. Knowing which steps to take to get unstuck can be overwhelming. Having someone to lean on for support and guidance could make this process more manageable.
To promote the best possible outcome in therapy, I combine a variety of treatment approaches and interventions that is person-centered and uniquely designed to match each person’s needs and preferences. Some of these treatment approaches include psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive-behavioural therapy(CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). My therapeutic work with clients is under clinical supervision with Brooke Bertrand, MA RP.
Together we can explore what you want your life to look like and plan the steps you need to get you there. Over time, you can develop the tools needed to overcome your personal challenges nd keep moving forward. My goal is to create a safe, warm, and open space where you feel comfortable sharing your personal experiences and nurture your growth. I look forward to working with you!
